How long have you been a customer at SalonCapri?
About a year and a half.
What do you do for a living?
I work for the Governor of Mass. It is my dream job!
Where did you get your degrees?
I attended Boston University for undergrad and Suffolk Law School for my law degree.
How did you get where you are now in your career?
I have always been involved in politics and government and after law school I was able to use my network I had built over the years to get where I am now.
Any tips for young professionals looking to land their dream job?
Set yourself apart from the rest! Everybody in Boston has a degree from a good school. Set yourself apart from everybody else by creating a good network, both socially and in business. Through connections, you will have a better chance of getting the opportunity to work where you’d like.
What is your favorite thing about SalonCapri?
Everybody is so nice, and the salon and the people who work there are super trendy. I feel like I am back in an LA salon. I love going there…I used to hate getting my hair done before I found SalonCapri.
What do you love about your stylist, Ashley Mason?
Everything! If I had to pick one, it would be the fact that she immediately makes you feel comfortable and will not let you leave her chair without making sure you are 100% satisfied. She also has an incredible eye for color and what works well with my skin tone.
What products do you like to use at home?
I use the Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil Shampoo and the conditioners from L’Oréal Professionnel.
How has SalonCapri improved your hair?
Well, first of all, my color has completely changed. I love trying new colors and styles, and Ashley has really made that possible. She had me with bangs for a while, and she suggested some great products that make my hair soft and shiny.
Where are your favorite places to shop and dine in the Boston area and why?
I love Doretta Taverna & Raw Bar – I cannot go there without ordering the zucchini chips! The food is incredible; I can never decide what to order. I also love the bar at Bricco in the North End. It is so close to where I live, and everybody that works there is awesome! For shopping, I love LIT boutique because they always have great pieces for everyday and special occasion. Adrienne who works in the Newbury Street location is amazing. She will sit there with me for hours while I try things on and decide what to get.
What is your daily beauty routine?
What is a beauty lesson or tip you’ve learned to be true?
Less is more when it comes to makeup. The older I get, the more I realize that too much makeup can make you look even older!
Which celebrity, model, or blogger is your beauty icon and why?
I don’t follow one specific beauty icon, but Sophia Loren will always be the most beautiful woman to me.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I love to travel, try new restaurants and workout as much as I can.
Why would you recommend SalonCapri to a friend?
Finding a stylist you are comfortable with can be really tricky. A lot of my friends are looking for somebody new to color their hair. I’ve sent at least 10 people to Ashley, and they all love her. I never hesitate to send them to her because I am so confident in her abilities.
