The lazy days of summer are in full swing and with busy fall just around the corner, we’re embracing taking it easy for the rest of August! That being said, taking some R&R doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice having fabulous hair. We had junior stylist, Katerina Nikou, give up the inside scoop on a few five-minute style suggestions so you can spend more time relaxing and less time fussing!
I’m loving this effortless look that Cara wore to the premiere of Paper Towns in NYC. This is a good summer look because it’s easy, quick and chic. To achieve this look, let hair air dry after the shower. Once hair is dry I recommend Shu Uemura Texture Wave Spray to achieve the tousled effect. From there, just loosely tie hair back into a 3 strand braid, starting at the nape of the neck. Be sure to leave some front strands out and loosen up the braid for a relaxed look.
If you rock a lob like JLo’s new cut, simply use a wand and quickly curl some pieces in different directions (away from the face and towards). Don’t wrap the hair around the wand for too long – you don’t want full curls, just waves. Use some Kérastase Spray À Porter texturizing spray for this tousled look. Finish with Kérastase Elixir Oil to give it some added shine too.
This half-up look has been very trendy for summer and it’s great because it’s easy to achieve. It’s a unique style and perfect for people who aren’t comfortable with pulling their hair all the way up. To get the look, let hair air dry naturally. Then, separate the top half of your hair. Gently wrap hair into a knot and secure with a hair elastic. Spray L’Oréal Professionnel Texture Expert Perfect Shimmer spray on the top part of hair to give it a little shine and hold. Spray bottom half with Shu Uemura Texture Wave Spray for a textured waves.
