Meet the Stylist: Jill Dineen

March 20, 2014

Introduce yourself!

My name is Jill Dineen and I am a senior stylist at our Dedham, Legacy Place location. I’m originally from Hyde Park, MA and I now reside in Norwood, MA.

How many years have you been a part of the SalonCapri team?

I have been lucky enough to be a part of the SalonCapri team for 14 years!

Where did you study previously?

I have studied at Bojack Academy in West Roxbury, MA and I continue my education with hands on classes and seminars at The L’Oreal Professional SOHO Academy in New York, NY.

What techniques do you specialize in?

I specialize in all hair coloring, dimensional coloring, and color correction as well as cutting and styling. My favorites are hair style make-overs! I also enjoy bridal and evening styles.

What inspired you to become a stylist?

When I was 16, I did an internship thru a work study program for my high school at a small salon. I fell in love with the job on my first day and have been in the industry ever since!

Which favorite hair care product has been in constant rotation for you behind the chair?

Kérastase Elixir Ultime is a new L’Oréal Professionnel product that can be used to help smooth out and moisturize looks for a beautiful blowdry and Shu Uemura Shape Paste is great for a matte and piecey look on shorter cuts.

Which celeb haircut and/or color are you loving right now and why?

Jennifer Lawrence has a stunning new hair makeover. I love that her new short cut is accented by soft painted highlights. It can be styled elegant and classic, as well as fun and flirty. For the men, I’m loving Brad Pitt’s high fade and sleek topped new style.

What are your favorite hair colors or style trends right now?

Icy blondes and rich brunettes with a soft golden ombré, or sombré. I love to style with a soft texture wave to show off the dimension of color in the hair. I’m using L’Oréal Professionnel anomia-free color INOA and lightener!

What advice would you give a client who wants to try something new or different with their hair?

My advice for someone looking for a change would be to make an appointment for a consultation and to do a little investigating on what styles he or she is loving right now. I love when clients come in with a few photos so we can talk about what would or would not work with their hair and lifestyle.

What hair products should everyone have in their arsenal at home?

L’Oréal Professionnel INOA color care shampoo and conditioner are a must to keep your color rich until your next up keep appointment. It’s like buying insurance for hair color.
