Meet the Stylist – Nina Chahine

January 18, 2017

Introduce yourself!

Hi! My name is Nina. I’m from Pembroke, Massachusetts, and I’m a junior stylist at SalonCapri’s Legacy Place, Dedham location.

How many years have you been a part of the SalonCapri team?

I’ve been with SalonCapri for over one year.

Where did you study previously?

I went to college at Bridgewater State University and was professionally trained at Empire Beauty School.

What do you specialize in?

Color is my passion. I love playing with hues and creating/reinventing looks and styles for my clients.

What inspired you to become a stylist?

I was inspired by watching my aunt work in the hair industry and wanting to follow in her footsteps.

Which favorite hair care product has been in constant rotation for you behind the chair?

Kérastase L’Incroyable Reshapable Heat Lotion. It’s a long-lasting product that allows you to style and restyle in minutes without reapplying.

Which celeb haircut and/or color are you loving right now and why?

I can’t get enough of the shaggy bob style that Kelly Ripa has made her signature style. It’s sleek, effortless and loaded with texture!

What are your favorite hair colors or style trends right now?

I’m still loving the ever-popular balayage – this naturally sun-kissed look is showing no signs of slowing down.

What hair trends do you foresee being popular in the coming seasons?

Rich, vibrant auburn color is seen everywhere now, and I think that will continue.
What advice would you give a client who wants to try something new or different with their hair?

I would recommend that we start subtle and then slowly build on that, and I would never suggest something that wouldn’t work with/emphasize their best features.

What hair products should everyone have in their arsenal at home?

Kérastase Elixir Ultime Nourishing Hair Oil. It provides amazing softness and shine.

What do you enjoy doing for fun when you’re not behind the salon chair?

Actually, one of my favorite outside-of-work hobbies is entering and competing in local bodybuilding competitions!
