Nicholas Penna, Jr.
Despite being born into one of Boston’s royal families of hair, Nick Penna Jr. never had any intention of following in his parents’ footsteps. However, Nick’s inherent skills, eye for style and natural talent eventually led him to pursue a career in hair, where success quickly followed. In 1995, Nick’s career skyrocketed when, at a young age, he received his first nationally-recognized award from Vidal Sassoon for “Excellence in New Design.” In 2000, he was once again recognized for his impressive styling skills with the Guillaume Award in Berlin, Germany.
Through the years, Nick Jr. expanded the salon’s team of top stylists and is responsible for the education of his staff, working closely with beauty partners such as L’Oréal Professionnel, who chose SalonCapri to be one of only 12 salons in the country to house the L’Oréal Professionnel Haircolor Center on premise. SalonCapri is also one of three L’Oréal expert teaching centers in the country, along with Fred Segal Beauty in Santa Monica, CA and L’Oréal’s own headquarters in New York’s SoHo neighborhood.
Today, Nick Jr. is routinely called on for expert hair tips and tricks and his advice has been featured in countless beauty magazines. He regularly styles hair for photo shoots and high-profile events such as New York City Fashion Week. He lives with his wife, Amy, and their three children in Newton.
