 For Weekend Downtime

his-hers-weekend-downtime

HIS:  “Formaggio in the South End has an amazing selection of cheeses, breads, chocolates and even cocktail ingredients and mixers.  Whenever I have some downtime, I’ll host a casual gathering with friends and family at our house and I’m usually playing bartender and testing out new cocktail recipes. I always like to make one drink that calls for a dash of bitters so this Boston Bittermen’s bitters ($25.95) would be a fun stocking stuffer.”

HERS: “We are in the process of renovating our basement to make it more of a lounging hangout for our kids and their friends. The Olives and Grace “Good at Naps” blanket ($118) is such a fun blanket and would be perfect stored by the couch in a woven basket or even hung on the wall!  Olives and Grace has such a cool collection of curated gift items like candles, soaps, books, etc. They can customize beautiful gift boxes to include any of their items, and can work with your desired budget to put something together for you.  Shipping anywhere in the U.S. is also available.”

 For Daily Use

HIS: “Like any good New Englander, I’m always layering in the cold Boston weather. This Arc’Teryx Atom LT vest ($175) is great to wear over shirts and it’s thin enough to wear a jacket over it.”

HERS: “The Kérastase holiday gift boxes ($103) are a limited-edition offering this year and contain a Bain (a shampoo), a Fondant (a conditioner) and a Thermique (deep conditioning mask). They’re packaged beautifully and available at our new Kérastase kiosk, located in the Huntington Arcade at the Shops at Prudential and at our SalonCapri locations. The perfect gift for any devout Kérastase fan.”

 For the Athletes in Us

HIS: “I’m in need of a new gym bag and this Steven Alan black Canvas Tote ($235) is simple and sturdy. The new Blunt Metro collapsible ($59), also available at the Steven Alan store on Newbury St., is necessary for our unpredictable weather.”

HERS: “The Follain beauty boutiques have such an amazing collection of natural products for your face and body  and – not to mention – the products  have such pretty packaging that deserve to be put on display in your bathroom.  Showers and baths are a treat for me, especially after a long, strenuous run, so I would love an array of items like the Follain refillable hand + body soap bottle ($16 for 8 ounces with bottle; $4 soap refill with a larger size available too), the Indie Lee coconut citrus scrub ($38) and the lavender soaking salt by Leif ($30).”

 For Frigid New England Weather

HIS: “rag & bone is one of my favorite clothing brands and I often pick up items at the store on Newbury St.  In terms of cold-weather accessories, I’d like the rag & bone Kaden Cashmere Beanie ($150), Camden Cashmere Crew ($395) and the Kaden Cashmere Scarf ($275).”

HERS:The Third Piece currently has a pop-up shop on Newbury St. (and an online site!) and I love  all of their super-soft, chunky hand-knit items  like the Newbury hoodie ($268 without a fur trim; $348 with fur) and the Beacon mitts ($128). They are available in assorted colors – if you can’t find the color you want at their pop-up, you can special order it and they can turn around an accessory item in 3-4 days.”

 For a Splurge Surprise

HIS: “This Shinola green leather watch ($800), available at the new Boston store at the Shops at Prudential Center, has so much character and will work with a lot of different outfits.”

HERS: “I love the neutral color and size of this deWolfe Leather Goods fringe backpack ($500), designed by the amazingly talented Boston-based Gina deWolfe, and available at her pop-up on Newbury Street right now. The fringe adds just enough flair without being too much.”

Nick’s outfit details: Army Green Point Jacket, Plaid CPO Shirt and Jeans from rag & bone on Newbury Street.

Amy’s outfit details: “The Kristen” sweater from Third Piece, Steele capri jeans from rag & bone and boots from Madewell.
