Nick Penna Predicts Fall 2015’s Hottest Hair Trends

August 21, 2015

The ombrés have grown out, the topknots have fallen and as summer looks are on their way out, we’re searching for the next hottest tress trends. While we love the fun and easygoing styles of summer, we’re excited to see what stylish options Fall 2015 has in store. With September just around the corner, we asked SalonCapri owner, Nick Penna, for his favorite fall hairstyles, so you can get ahead of the game on your fall locks!

Natural/Tousled Hair

Tousled-Hair 2

“Naturally textured hair is going to be big this fall, like the textured tresses seen on the fall runways at Anna Sui. Leave pin-straight, sleek locks behind and opt for a tousled and natural feel. This look works on all hair lengths and is easy to achieve – just spray hair with texturizing spray and go. Think of this trend as the beach waves of fall – a perfectly imperfect style that’s effortless and sexy.”

bronde 1

“Bronde is the hot color term of the season. Celebrities from Blake Lively to Cara Delevingne have been rocking this versatile hue falling right in between brown and blonde. Bronde is the perfect transition color to go from light summer hues into a more muted and subtle tone. You’ll be seeing this color all over, since it works well for almost anyone.”

contour 1

“Similar to contouring for makeup, this trend uses highlights and lowlights to complement facial features and skin tones. Contouring will be different for everyone depending on your face shape and skin tone but, generally speaking, the trend uses balayage and freehand techniques to achieve personalized locks that complement your features. Jessica Alba and Drew Barrymore are big fans of this trend, so I foresee it catching on with the masses this season!”

Mid-length Cuts

“Instead of a traditional lob, I’m predicting a more grown out look…to about mid-length. The mid-length works on every hair type, but I think that blonde, textured, mid-length cuts will be what everyone is dying for this fall.  Long gone are the days of super long locks or short crops, a mid-length cut is versatile enough for styling and a good option for growing out your former lob!”
