With awards season kicking off this Sunday with the Golden Globes, we’re reminded of what a great year it’s been for blockbuster films, leading ladies and most importantly, impeccably styled starlets! Last year we swooned over Amber Heard and Margot Robbie’s unforgettable updos and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for this year. It’s a given that our favorite A-listers will be gliding down the red carpet bedecked with glittering gowns and countless karats, but how will they wear their hair? To answer this quandary we asked two of our top Boston stylists, Caitlin Young and Graziella Lembo, to reveal their 2015 Golden Globes hairstyle forecasts for our four favorite dames!
We loved Reese Witherspoon’s performance in Wild (messy lob and all), but now that she’s back to her signature long, corn silk strands, we can’t wait to see her glam it up! Caitlin’s forecast? “Reese tends to always wear her hair down with a side bang – last year she rocked an asymmetrical sleek bob with one side tucked behind her ear. This year, considering her recent rough and tumble role, I think she’s going to shy away from her super-sleek norm and go for a very soft, glamorous and romantic pulled back style.”
Gone Girl’s Rosamond Pike piqued our interest with her character’s eerily perfect blonde strands (plus she can make a simple center part look unbelievably majestic), so what is Caitlin’s forecast for her Golden Globes red carpet debut? “Rosamond’s new Vanity Fair cover is amazing with her hair short and pulled off her face, but her recent simple styles lead me to believe she’s going to go very glam on the red carpet. Something with soft, dramatic waves and a deep side part would look gorgeous!”
We fell for Felicity Jones in her recent breakout role in The Theory of Everything and can’t wait to see how her beautiful mahogany hues, clean shoulder-length cut and side swept bangs are styled for the red carpet. Graziella loves Felicity’s fun and fierce style and can see her rocking “an updo with a little bit of body in the crown area and a deep side part with a heavy side bang and a chignon in the back.”
Last but not least, Golden Globes veteran Julianne Moore will undoubtedly be a show stealer with her long, versatile locks and eye-catching color! Graziella envisions Julianne “rocking old-school Hollywood golden girl glamour: hair down and parted on the side with a subtle, sleek and glamorous wave cascading over the shoulder.”
